Landscaping Strathblane
Decal Scotland provide landscaping services to the Strathblane area.
Adding some features to your garden can be both practical and look great. One of the most popular options in landscaping around the region is the use of stones. But what stones and how can you use them?
Crushed stones are often used around other features and to cover flower beds. Gravel is the finest, sometimes known as pea gravel when it is more rounded, and pea shaped. Pebbles are often rounded, larger stones that looks like something from the beach. Cobble is often small pieces of shaped stone, usually square while boulders are larger, feature stones.
Slate chips are another popular settle of garden stone. These come in a range of colours including purple, blue and green and can be put either straight on top of soil or on top of a weed barrier. They are all different shapes and sizes and can be walked on.
Natural stone can also be used for paths and even driveways in some cases. Pea gravel is a popular one for paths, often mixed with flagstones while paths made just from paving stones is a great way to make a sturdy path that can withstand constant use. Cobblestones are also sometimes used in driveways, especially if the surface is quite uneven as they can adapt a little better.
