Sunrooms – Great for the Winter Months
Sunrooms are a popular addition to many homes, offering the best of a conservatory with the stability of a brick-built extension. But what makes them stand out is that they are great for winter months. Here are a few reasons why.
For starters, in the winter we all suffer from a lack of natural sunlight. Our bodies need that light to feel better, to fight off seasonal depression or just that horrible dull winter feeling. While we need actual sunlight to get Vitamin D, even having sunlit spaces can help improve mood and fight off winter blues. A sunroom is the perfect way to get this while still being protected from the cold.
In winter, sunrooms are just as versatile and useful as in the summer. With the modern double glazing available, it is easy to heat the space and keep it comfortable, even when it is cold. So you can use the room for anything from a home office to a playroom for the kids, a dining room to an extra living room area.
For the keen gardener, you can even go back to the sunroom’s roots and use it to grow non-hardy plants that would otherwise die outside. Our winters are too harsh for some plants but being in the sunroom will guarantee their survival – or at least stop them dying from the cold!
