Landscape Your Garden in 2020
If you are planning to have some work done to your home in 2020, one of the jobs to add to the list to consider is landscaping the garden. Even for a keen gardener, having a professional spend some time on your garden can be a big benefit, especially if you plan to sell your home in the near future.
So, if you are looking to landscape your garden in 2020, what are the main things to consider?
First, plan the main elements of the garden. You will do this with your landscape gardener, but it never hurts to get some inspiration together first. Think about things like walls and boundaries, hedges and fences and paths and patio area. Do you want a lawn area or a garden feature? What about considering zoning the garden into purposes such as dining, playing for the kids and spots that are shaded?
By planning the areas, the landscaper can then see what materials are needed. This might be bricks for walls, paving for patio area and damp proof membranes. There may be exterior paints and finishes needed to create the look you want.
You might also want to give a quick check about permitted development and any permissions needed for the work you are doing. Most landscaping work won’t need any permission but if you are in a conservation area or live in a listed building, this might be different. Outbuildings and walls also have some rules apply to them so look into these before you start.
