Kitchen Options
There are definitely plenty of kitchen options when you are looking at a new kitchen or renovating your existing space – sometimes too many! It is easy to get a sense of overwhelming and be unsure where to start your planning. But if you follow the professional’s steps to planning a kitchen, the whole process is easier.
The first step is to assess your needs – what do you need from the kitchen? A cooking space and a cleaning space are the two obvious ones. Storage for kitchen essentials and space for appliances like a washing machine and dishwasher are also common. By starting with the essentials that you need for basic kitchen functions, you can start with a list of what the kitchen must include.
While working with an expert will help with some of the more technical stuff, it is worth remembering that you need plumbing, heating and lighting in the room as well as electric points. Where would these work best and what styles would you need?
With the basics in place, you can start to think about the look and feel, the aesthetics, of the kitchen. What colour do you want the kitchen cupboards and drawers to be? Do you want a splashback and tiles? What type of worktop do you want? By thinking about the design elements, you can start to piece together what the kitchen will look like.
