Kitchen Design
When you are in the early stages of planning a kitchen renovation and are looking at kitchen design, there are so many things to consider. That’s why working with an expert is always the best route. But here is some inspiration for the different areas to consider as part of the design process.
The basic layout of the kitchen is always first – what needs to be in it and where it will all go. This includes the appliances such as the cooker, hob, fridge and freezer as well as things like the dishwasher and washing machine if you don’t have a utility room. Then you can look at adding the kitchen cabinets between to add the storage space you need.
With some basic ideas of the layout, you can then start to think about the specifics. Do you want cupboards or drawers – or a mixture? What kind of layout inside the cupboards do you need? What about wall units and their internal layout?
Consider the flooring as well as you are planning. Do you want tiles, vinyl flooring or something else? Always remember that kitchen floors see a lot more mess than other rooms and go for something easy to clean.
Then you can get to the finishing touches – the décor, the little extras you want to add and the furniture you are going to put inside.
