Benefits of Loft Conversions
Not every home is suitable for a loft conversion, but a large number are, especially in newer properties. But why would you consider converting the loft to gain the space you need?
Loft conversions are already part of the house, so the process can be less disruptive than other extension options where a new area of the house is built. And market research has shown that converting your loft into livable space can increase the value of the property by as much as 20%.
A converted loft can be used for a number of different purposes. One is for a large master bedroom with skylights to let natural light and air into the room. Another idea is a playroom or games room for the kids where they can play or set up their computer games consoles. You can even use it as a home office to work away from the main house.
Loft conversions can be still be used as a storage space too, if this is what you need. By letting in light and air and making it easier to use them, the space is more convenient and can also be easily adapted for other purpose at a later date.
Finally, a loft conversion can often be done without the need for planning permission under Permitted Development rights. This makes it easier to do the work and less expensive to get started. Building regulations still always apply to any project, however.
